Because New School Swing has to scale back their Blues series, Blues Union will be offering all-level series to try to help pick up the slack. Kicking it off this month will be Julie Brown and Jenn Martinez with a musicality series:

Musicality (All Levels, 7:30-8:30)
One of the beauties of Blues is its sheer variance in tempos, styles, and moods. So naturally, we want our dancing to reflect that! In this class we will focus on how to listen to and root yourself in the music, and how to translate that into different styles of movements and cool rhythms.

Beginner Crash Course (8:30-9:00)
This will be a weekly feature designed to introduce novices to Blues dancing. It will provide enough vocabulary to have fun on the dance floor. Plus, when students feel comfortable with this material, they’ll be ready for the Series classes.

Providing your Blues fix will be Amy Kucharik and Khrysti Smyth behind the DJ booth.

Plus, we’re dropping the class prices back to $5, and as always, the dance is $5

Last week we wrapped up another month of series, and now is the perfect time to practice. That’s right, it’s time for another Clinic:

Blues Clinic (7:30-9)
We gather as many instructors as we can for 1.5 hours of personalized instruction. Students dance with instructors and get individual feedback on their dancing. Music plays continuously in the background, and students are encouraged to social dance and give each other feedback while not dancing with instructors. There is also a long beginner lesson running throughout, making the Clinic perfect for introducing newcomers to Blues Dancing.

For your Blues enjoyment, Stephen York and Devona Cartier will be behind the DJ booth.

If you registered for an entire series (beginner or intermediate), the Clinic is included in the price. As always, the Clinic is $5, and the dance an additional $5.
