Thursday, March 7

This month Amanda Gruhl and Chris Mayer will be turning awesome moves into awesome choreography:

Blues Performance (7:30-8:30)
This month continues the performance series. In February, Chris & Amanda taught you the cool moves and how to lead & follow them. This month, you’ll form it into a routine, which will be performed at a Blues Union dance! If you took class in Feb, you can still join in for March, even if you haven’t registered already. This month is also bring-your-own-partner, so you can practice with the same person you’ll perform with.

Register now and get the March blues clinic for free!

Blues Basics + Beginner Clinic (8:30-9:30)
This weekly drop-in class is designed for new-to-blues dancers or anyone wanting to focus on the fundamentals. It will provide enough moves to have fun on the dance floor, as well the opportunity to hone and polish the core techniques behind the dance. Each week, we’ll cover something new, so you can come every week, or just drop in for a class or few. This class includes the beginner clinic, where you can work on your dancing one-on-one with instructors and advanced dancers. This month it will be taught by Jenn Martinez and Rob Donnelly.

As always, the lesson is $5 and the dance is an additional $5.

It’s time for another Clinic, and the return of some live music!

Blues Clinic (7:30-9:30)
The Blues Clinic is an opportunity to work one-on-one with our Blues Union instructors and to work with your friends and peers. Music plays in the background as people work together, and the instructors move around the room, working with people one-on-one or in couples. When not working with instructors, people work with peers, dance with each other, try new things they’re working on, or try things the instructors have helped them with. You can work on material from that month’s series class, workshops you took recently, or anything you like! From 8:30-9:00, we have our Blues Basics class as usual, while the clinic continues in the rest of the room.

Greg Klyma is a dancer favorite and just returned from touring, so we’re bringing him back for your dancing pleasure. He’s also put together an awesome line-up of musicians, so you don’t want to miss this! More information about Greg can be found at:
http://www.klyma.com/
Plus, Amy Kucharik will be DJing the band breaks.

Naturally, because we have a band, we’ll be going till midnight.

As always the Clinic is $5, and as with live music nights, the dance will be $10.

We’ve got even more awesome moves this week from Amanda Gruhl and Chris Mayer:

Blues Performance (7:30-8:30)
One of the best ways to push your dancing up a level is to work on challenging choreography. In this class you’ll learn blues choreography targeted to intermediate students (though advanced dancers are welcome too). In February, Chris & Amanda will teach the cool moves and how to lead & follow them. In March, they’ll form it into a routine, which will be performed at a Blues Union dance! If you want to perform and take the March series, you must attend the February series as well. February will also be a good time to find a partner, since in March, you’ll perform and take the whole series with a partner of your choice.

Although perfect attendance is not required, it is strongly encouraged if you want to perform. If you miss a class in March it is your responsibility to figure out what you missed by asking peers, attending Blues Clinic, or scheduling a private lesson.
