By request, we have more close embrace goodness from Joshua Boroff and Devona Cartier:

Close Embrace (All Levels, 7:30-8:30)
We will go through connection in close embrace, otherwise known as Chest-to-Chest. Focus will be on frame and communication and then moving on to putting this in your day to day dance. Once there, we will add vocabulary as well as touch on dances such as the Strut, Slow Drag, as well as the Mooch and Grind.

Beginner Crash Course (8:30-9:00)
This will be a weekly feature designed to introduce novices to Blues dancing. It will provide enough vocabulary to have fun on the dance floor. Plus, when students feel comfortable with this material, they’ll be ready for the Series classes.

Devona Cartier and Steve York will be behind the DJ booth, ready to satisfy yours Blues craving.

The lesson is $5 and the dance an additional $5.

Our very silly September is almost at an end, so it’s time for another Clinic:

Blues Clinic (7:30-9)
During Blues Clinics we gather as many instructors as we can for personalized instruction. Students dance with instructors and get individual feedback on their dancing. Music plays continuously in the background, and students are encouraged to social dance and give each other feedback while not dancing with instructors. There is also a long beginner lesson running throughout, making the Clinic perfect for introducing newcomers to Blues Dancing.

And it’s time for some more live music! Fandango will be in the house. For more information you can check out:

Or you can get a preview at Toad on Wednesday:

Plus, Devona Cartier will be DJing the band breaks.

And because we have a band, we’ll be going till midnight.

As always the Clinic is $5, and as with live music nights, the dance will be $10.

The Dirty Water Lindy and Blues Exchange is here! Blues Union is officially co-hosting the Swing and Soul Party, so there are some logistical changes this week.

The dance will be held at the Crosby Whistle Stop, located at 24 Roland St, Charlestown, MA.

Teaching the lesson and finishing up our Playtime series will be Dan Repsch of Philadelphia, PA and our own Devona Cartier:

Dan and Devona’s Blues Playtime (All levels, 8-9)
Dancing isn’t dancing if it isn’t fun! Dan and Devona love to play around while they dance, and this series will show you all the different ways they can work having fun into their dance. Get ready to be ridiculous!

The beginner crash course will not be held this week, but will return with our regularly scheduled Blues Unions next week.

To keep you dancing till midnight will be featured DJs Julie Brown and Dan Repsch, along with support from Steve York and Amy Kucharik.

If you’ve registered for the exchange this is included in the price, otherwise it’s $10 at the door.

You can get all the information you need at the event’s website: http://dirtywaterlindy.org/
