Happy 2015 everyone! We’re kicking off the new year with a series on a classic Blues dance from our resident vintage Blues experts, Joshua Boroff and Devona Cartier:

Struttin’ (7:30-8:30)
Originally from Memphis, struttin’ is a fun, relaxed, close-embrace-based dance, with fun footwork for leaders and followers. Check out some examples:

This series will work your struttin’ technique, as well as take you beyond the basics.

Blues Basics + Beginner Clinic (8:30-9:30)
This weekly drop-in class is designed for new-to-blues dancers or anyone wanting to focus on the fundamentals. It will provide enough moves to have fun on the dance floor, as well the opportunity to hone and polish the core techniques behind the dance. Each week, we’ll cover something new, so you can come every week, or just drop in for a class or few. This class includes the beginner clinic, where you can work on your dancing one-on-one with instructors and advanced dancers.

Susan de Guardiola and Jonathan Pechon will be behind the DJ booth for your dancing pleasure.

As always, the lesson is $5 and the dance is an additional $5.
