Let’s try this again! The weather should be much nicer this week, so we’ll actually be able to kick off 2018.

It all starts with classes from one of our most popular instructors:

One-step and Two-step Blues (7:30-8:30)
with Ruth Evelyn
Discover the intricacies and artistry of one-step and two-step in the blues era, as we delve into these two ballroom blues dances. We will work on leading and following effortlessly, and how to dance expressively in both roles.

Blues Basics: Jukin’ B (8:30-9:30)
with Ruth Evelyn
This weekly drop-in class is designed for new-to-blues dancers or anyone wanting to focus on the fundamentals. No experience or partner required! This month, we’ll focus on Jukin’, a sub-style of blues that was danced in juke joints, house parties, and other small social spaces to guitar, harmonica, and some piano-based blues. We’ll build our repertoire of hip movements & variations, with the Slow Drag, Messaround, Funky Butt, Four Corners, and Rocks.

Amy Blank and Steve York will be behind the DJ booth to satisfy your Blues cravings.

As always, the lesson is $5 and the dance an additional $5.
