We’re closing out the month in spooky style. It all starts with:

Wraps, Tommies, and Low-tone Moves (7:30-8:30)
with Julie Brown and Dan Legenthal
In this class, we’ll be working on some cool and interesting moves! We’ll also use those moves to work on tone matching and leading & following with less arm tone.

Blues Basics: Jukin’ A (8:30-9:30)
with Jenn Martinez and Charlene Chow
This drop-in class is designed for new-to-blues dancers or anyone wanting to focus on the basics! No experience or partner required! This month focuses on Jukin’, a sub-style of blues dances that were danced in juke joints, house parties, and other small social spaces. Danced to guitar, harmonica, and piano-based blues, this style has greater independence between partners. This month at Union, we’ll work on getting great hip movement, working on the Fishtail, Mooch, Grind, Figure-8s, and Slow Drag.

And it’s once again time for our annual costume contest! Show up in costume before announcements at 10:30 and you’ll automatically be in the running for some fabulous Blues Union prizes.

Grace Marie and Amy Blank will be behind the DJ booth to whet your Blues appetite.

As always, the lesson is $5 and the dance an additional $5.
