Thursday, May 16!

Blues Union has been running for a decade! To celebrate, we’re throwing a big ol’ party! The night starts off with:

All Levels: Blues Line Dance (7:30-8:30)
with Jenn Martinez and Julie Brown
Inspired by this community, a Boston blues line dance was created. We’re featuring another chance to learn, or review it. Everyone is welcome! All participants of either class are welcome to take part in the debut.

Blues Basics: Ballroomin’ A (8:30-9:30)
with Julie Brown
This drop-in class is designed for new-to-blues dancers or anyone wanting to focus on the basics! No experience or partner required! This month focuses on ballroomin’ blues, danced to jazz-blues music. We’ll be working on one-step and two-step for blues, two stylish walking dances with close embrace, fun footwork patterns, and delightful turns.

Naturally, there will be live music, courtesy of Amy Kucharik and Tiger Moan! There will also be awesome food, in the form of our ever popular grilled cheese night! The brand new Boston blues line dance will be debuted!

Plus, for the first time ever, we will have vendors! Three local black owned businesses will be present during the dance: Chevalier Homme, Beauty N Simplicity, and Gracie Makes Things.

As always, the lesson is $5, and for the special event the dance is $15.
