It’s time for more dance-improving silliness from Chris Mayer and Amanda Gruhl:

Chris and Amanda’s Blues Playtime (All Levels, 7:30-8:30)
Dancing isn’t dancing if it isn’t fun! Chris and Amanda love to play around while they dance, and this series will show you all the different ways they can work having fun into their dance. Get ready to be ridiculous!

Beginner Crash Course (8:30-9:00)
This will be a weekly feature designed to introduce novices to Blues dancing. It will provide enough vocabulary to have fun on the dance floor. Plus, when students feel comfortable with this material, they’ll be ready for the Series classes.

To keep you dancing all night will be Leslie Stevenson and Julie Brown behind the DJ booth.

We’ve dropped the class prices back to $5, and as always, the dance is $5.

We’ve wrapped up our Connection Series, so it’s time for another Clinic:

Blues Clinic (7:30-9)
During Blues Clinics we gather as many instructors as we can for personalized instruction. Students dance with instructors and get individual feedback on their dancing. Music plays continuously in the background, and students are encouraged to social dance and give each other feedback while not dancing with instructors. There is also a long beginner lesson running throughout, making the Clinic perfect for introducing newcomers to Blues Dancing.

To keep you dancing all night will be Amy Kucharik and Devona Cartier behind the DJ booth.

As always, the Clinic is $5, and the dance an additional $5.

BluesSHOUT is finally upon us and we here at Blues Union want to kick it off for you in style! We have all out-of-town talent taking care of you for the evening, we’ll be in a bigger venue, and we’re going till midnight.

Close and Close…r (All Levels, 7:30-8:30)
Close embrace is like a hug — it can be great, or it can be awkward — and without it, you miss out on a lot of Blues dancing.  But don’t worry!  We’re here to help.  We’ll challenge you with different variations in close embrace, and show you how to make them feel comfortable for you and your partner.

Last week we had closed position, and this week we’re opening it up with Julie Brown and Gui Cavalcanti:

Open Position (All Levels, 7:30-8:30)
Open position gives you a lot of freedom to move around and to create interesting shapes & orientations with your partner. This week, we’ll work on moving around in open position (in new and interesting ways!), adding energy & dynamics to those movements, and how to make that all feel great!

This will be a weekly feature designed to introduce novices to Blues dancing. It will provide enough vocabulary to have fun on the dance floor. Plus, when students feel comfortable with this material, they’ll be ready for the Series classes.
