Last week was a great start to our Black History Month fundraiser, so let’s keep it going! All profits made this month will be donated to Black Lives Matter Cambridge.

All Levels Sampler on Blues Styles (7:30-8:30)
with Julie Brown
This month, instead of the Intermediate+ class, we’re offering classes open to all levels on various topics regarding blues culture, music, and history! Each week will be a different teacher & topic. This will be a lecture on different styles of blues music.

Blues Basics: Ballroomin’ B (8:30-9:30)
with Julie Brown & Clayton Jennings
This weekly drop-in class is designed for new-to-blues dancers or anyone wanting to focus on the fundamentals. No experience or partner required! This month, we’ll focus on Ballroomin’, a sub-style of blues dances that were danced in ballrooms to jazz-blues. The first 2 weeks, we’ll work on close embrace and some cool moves, while learning Savoy Walk. The last 2 weeks, we’ll work on our close embrace connection and lag, through Ballroom-style Slow Drag.

Amy Blank and Joey Science will be behind the DJ booth to get your Blues groove on. This week’s featured artists are Muddy Waters and Duke Ellington!

As always, the lesson is $5 and the dance an additional $5. Donations will also be welcome.
