Join us this month as we focus on partnership dynamics in:

Extended Topics: Stringing It Together! (7:00-8:00)
with Joey Science
You can shimmy, you can shake, but can you lead and/or follow cool moves? This class will take some of the basic moves and floor patterns that you see in beginner classes around town and weave them together into cooler and hotter moves for your blues dancing pleasure. You should know how to lead or follow inside and outside turns, and be able to lead and follow traveling turns and spot turns to get the most benefit out of this class.

Blues Basics: Partner Conversation (8:00-9:00)
with Charlene Chow and Kal Anderson
This month, we’ll work on the basics of how followers and leaders build a dance together in blues, and how partners each express their personal style while leading or following.

This month, we’re featuring a different Black blues artist each week, learning about their music, their style, and fun & lovely ways to dance to their music. This week, we’ll highlight the music and life of Gaye Adegbalola!

Blues Basics: Style & Improvisation 2 (8:00-9:00)

This month, we’ll work on developing your own style in blues dance, while learning fundamental techniques & moves. Work on things like aesthetics, pulses, and styling blues movements.

Each lesson is $5.

This month, we’re featuring a different Black blues artist each week, learning about their music, their style, and fun & lovely ways to dance to their music. This week, we’ll highlight the music and life of Alberta Hunter, a blueswoman whose career spanned from the 1920s to the 1980s! Any dancers who have a comfortable close embrace connection are welcome to join.

This month, we’ll work on developing your own style in blues dance, while learning fundamental techniques & moves. Work on things like aesthetics, pulses, and styling blues movements.

It’s time for the next social dance at Blues Union, and we’ll have live music from The Undaunted Professor Harp!

This night is also a fundraiser night, with all profits going to Black Lives Matter Cambridge and the Racines Festival.

This month, we’re featuring a different Black blues artist each week, learning about their music, their style, and fun & lovely ways to dance to their music. The level may vary each week. The first featured artist is Professor Harp!

Blues Basics: Style & Improvisation 2 (8:00-9:00)

This month, we’ll work on developing your own style in blues dance, while learning fundamental techniques & moves. Work on things like aesthetics, pulses, and styling blues movements.

Social dancing happens from 9-11:30pm. During the break there will be a Chicago Steppin’ and a bachata showcase. Plus, we’ll have a jam for all February birthdays and anniversaries.

Each lesson is $5. At the door the dance is $15.
